Description
This is a pretty good rotor for 6 bolt Hubs. The stainless steel construction will work with most brake pads including resin/organic, metallic, and semi-metallic. This disc requires a six bolt / center- lock adapter to work with the hubs we stock.You may wonder why we carry hubs that accept center-lock discs, and not 6 bolt discs. We have three reasons:
1. Some of our kits are designed to work with both rim-brake and disc brake bicycles. A wheel built with both a brake-ready rim and a hub that can accept a disc can be adapted to fit both braking standards. This makes the wheel more versatile, useful and able to work with multiple bicycles, both past and present.
2. Simple aesthetics: when the wheel is being used with rim brakes with no disc installed that leaves the disc interface exposed. We just think a naked center-lock hub looks much better than a naked 6 bolt hub.
3. The one time cost of a center lock to 6 bolt adapter (sold separately) is offset by the fact that there are a wider variety of 6 bolt discs that are just as good as any center lock disc, but often at a better price.
