Shimano 105 / Sun CR18 – Rear Wheel – Silver – 700c

This DIY wheel building  kit is if for bikes with 130 mm rear dropouts. The silver (really more of a grey  bluish) Shimano 105 SH-R7000 rear hub pairs well with the  Sun CR18 rim, and when laced with care using Sapim Race double butted spokes,  a beautiful workhorse of a wheel is the result.

Here’s why we like this wheel:

• It’s designed for those older, beautiful rim brake bikes that the industry has ghosted.
• This is a 36h Build paired with Sapim double butted spokes and the durable CR18 rim. Meaning it can take a fair amount of abuse.
• The Shimano 105 hub is more than entry level, with seals and rebuild-able cup and cone bearings that with a little maintenance will still be working for years to come. It has low-friction contact seals, internal O-rings, and an internal grease sleeve to protect against water and dirt. They support 10- and 11-speed cassettes as well.

This kit includes a hub, rim, spokes/nipples and rim tape.
