This makes for a unique kit: a modern dynamo build that works just as well on a 1990s steel as it does on a current adventure rig with more modern standards.<\/p>\n<p>We put this together for a number of reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Shutter Precision PL-&amp;\u00a0 hub is an affordable yet reliable dynamo hub.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0 12 mm through axle hub is center-lock disc compatible\u00a0 and pairs well the\u00a0 Velocity Atlas rim (rated for 25-38 mm tires). This makes for a wheel that can be used with 100 mm QR dropouts (via an inexpensive<a href=\"https:\/\/wheelbuildingkit.com\/store\/product\/277\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0adapter\u00a0<\/a>or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wheelbuildingkit.com\/store\/product\/12mm-thru-axel-to-quick-realease-converter-caps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inserts<\/a>) or with 12 mm through axles. We\u00a0 chose the center-lock hub because it doesn\u2019t look weird when the wheel is used in rim-brake mode.<\/li>\n<li>The 36 hole 26 inch Velocity Atlas rim is known for its strength and durability. Also, 36 hole wheels are more forgiving of building imperfections and make the wheel able to take more weight and abuse.<\/li>\n<li>We leaned into the silver parts because they look good.<\/li>\n<li>Premium Sapim Leader spokes are included to give the wheel extra durability . They have been custom cut to length just for this build.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This kit comes with hub, rim, spokes, spoke nipples and rim tape.
